My subtitles appear too early — what do I do?

Shift them later. If a line shows before someone speaks, add a positive offset in the "later" direction.

My subtitles appear too late — what do I do?

Shift them earlier. If a line shows after someone has already spoken, use the "earlier" direction to pull every timestamp back.

What if the drift gets worse over the video?

A constant shift only fixes a fixed offset. If the gap grows or shrinks over time (common with a framerate mismatch), use the Subtitle Sync Fixer instead, which corrects both offset and speed.
